This may seem an odd post, since this particular website is still very new, but I used to write about the previous year's doings on my other sites. Since adding a blog to this site, I feel it's a good place to start again.
2022 wasn't the kindest to me, especially during the October-December time frame.
It wasn't all bad. I printed some interesting projects for clients including a ton of terrain for a new gaming store that opened recently and my ball jointed doll makers.
I used my scanner for the first time, recreating a BJD saddle for a stand that has ceased production for a private collector.
I learned to play the Etsy game, increasing my sales significantly, before moving over to my own shop here. I'm in the process of learning how to drive my own traffic off of Etsy. I understand that it takes time.
This is also the time when one of my favorite Patreons was created. MatMireMakes designs the most personable articulated characters. I have them available in my shop. They were an absolute blast to print and photograph. iSanmate used my photos in their Amazon listings.
Over the course of the year, I designed and printed a series of wall art, trellises, and fun prints. Some of the files are available on Cults3D and the prints are for sale in my shop. I greatly enjoy drawing out designs by hand and making them into printable files.
In October, I had to prepare for the loss of a revenue stream and the year ended on a low note with the sudden illness and loss of a loved one.
I feel that while 2022 was very challenging, I did make some wonderful connections that will play out in 2023. I'll be adding more items to my shop and would like to keep this blog going. I'll be designing more digital art and keeping my printing services going. I'll also be working with a local dental lab, helping them integrate 3d printing into their office. The prospect of combining my long-time career with my business model is very exciting and I'm looking forward to what that opportunity will bring.
I hope the best for everyone in 2023. If there's any content you'd like to see, let me know and I'd be happy to sort it out.
